Often times we feel like we're on top of the world. What happens when the
world as we know it comes crashing down around us? That perfect job...Gone! That perfect relationship...Gone!
That nice car...Gone! Those good kids...Gone! So what do you do!
I've found
that we tend to turn to our friends and loved ones when we're in the midst of those storms. We all do it.
We go through those tough times and the first thing we find ourselves doing is turning to those who love us. Sharing
with them those secrets and those troublesome times. Do we ever stop and ask ourselves who loves us more than anyone?
Who would never forsake us? We often forget to turn to our Lord and Savior.
Galatians
5:22-23 NLT says; When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.
Ultimately we cannot receive these things without God's help. If we want the fruit
of the spirit to grow in us we must join our lives to His (see John 15:4-5). We must know him, love him and imitate
him. Trust in him and know that He is God.
James 1:6-7 NLT says; If you
need wisdom--if you want to know what God wants you to do--ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent
your asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled
as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed in the wind.
Commit yourself wholeheartedly
to God. I know sometimes we don't believe that God is with us. We must rely on God to show us what is best
for us and trust that he will give it to you. Turn to God for strength and continue to obey his word.
